An original (36x48) acrilyic painting of Professor Longhair by New Orleans artist Hector G. Professor Longhair was a blues pianist and a early pioneer of the New Orleans distinct R&b and boogie woogie sound.

Specific detail was paid close attention to in this piece.  From the street sign/lamp where Longhair mentions in his hit song recorded in 1949 'Mardi Gras in New Orleans' that you can see the Zulu king down on St. Claude and Dumaine.  Also the white house to the far right is the only house Professor Longhair ever owned. He lived there for two years until his passing.

In 1977 local business men and music lovers opened a music venue and named it Tipitinas after one of Professor Longhair's most popular songs.  He played there until is untimely death.  In 1981 Longhair was inducted into The Blues Hall of Fame and a decade later he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. One City, One Love, ONENAWLINS!!
